I have these four lovely words for you today . . . Write the Word journal.
There are so many creative ways to study scripture these days! As a creative person myself (so I think), I enjoy utilizing as many resources as possible to jump start my study of the word of God.
From wide-margin bibles for bible journaling, to index cards with verses written on them, to simple blank journals, I love to keep outlets around that allow me to capture a verse of scripture in my own creative way.
One of my favorites is the Write the Word journals by Cultivate What Matters! What I love about these journals is that they help you get started, and then allow you to make it all your own š

Let me demonstrate…here’s a pic from one of my entries. On this side of the page, it prompts you to write what today is (ex: Monday, or January 1st, or Our Anniversary!, or very cold, ect….), then what are you grateful for (the possibilities are endless!). The main portion of the page is dedicated to a verse or two of scripture that is given to you. You copy it out or write whatever response fills your heart.
Did I mention I LOVE the book of James? š
On the opposite page that you can’t see, it also prompts you to write your word of the day (which mine were -SLOW DOWN-), as well as your thoughts for the day. Overall, this is just a lovely and impactful way to study the word and reflect on daily life.
And it gets better! They make these journals for kids too!
Right now, Lizzy Lou is using the Write the Word for kids journal, and as my creative-minded kiddo, she’s loving it! Kids can copy a verse of scripture, and have plenty of space to draw and be creative, love it!
Here’s some samples:
These journals are truly a great outlet to be creative in your bible time, for both kids and adults alike!
We strive to cultivate what matters most in our family – the word of God and our relationship with Jesus Christ. And when you can make it fun and creative, that’s a win-win!
How do you do bible study?
