Calling it! Last day of our 2019-2020 school year! What a doozie, eh? I’m sure everyone can relate someway, somehow.
For us, it was our official first year, full-time homeschooling, under our belts! Feeling a little smarter, a whole lot closer as a family, and boy oh boy, living the life with Jesus at the wheel!
Our year consisted of switching curriculum twice, in 2 different subjects…moving our family across the country from New Mexico to Iowa…trying to meet new people during a pandemic…and not feeling satisfied in our lesson plans with summer knocking on the door.
However, by God’s grace, I felt the love of our church family poured out on us as we said goodbye. I struggled with anxiety over the move and learned just how much I needed to trust God. Our new home is surrounded by sweet and thoughtful neighbors, and new friends. We are blessed with a roof over our head, and a town and community we are grateful to raise our family in.
God is good all the time, and all the time, God is good.
Perspective is a lifestyle. I pray we choose to see God’s goodness, faithfulness, love and mercy in all things good and bad. Emotions fluctuate, relationships change, even our family’s location may alter. But God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is our constant, and friend, we can rely on Him.
So, I (and I hope you too!) take this outlook with me as I start planning and prepping for our next round of homeschool!! Jesus, help me keep it simple, keep it necessary, and keep it real 😉.
If you haven’t forgotten, I’m a type A personality, so yes, I’ve already got a sneak peek into our curriculum choices!! Here’s what’s come in:
Post coming soon with details of curriculum picks for 7th, 5th, 2nd and Kinder! 🙂 Stay tuned! And God Bless your planning!
