I’m totally a note-taker :), but I quickly realized, there’s just too much to write down from this book! We are well on our way to Niagra Falls in the RV, and Education: Does God have an opinion? By Israel Wayne was the first book I picked up. It is chock-full of insightful information!! As much as I could take pages and pages of notes, I’ll stick to the highlighters and tabs ;).
I’m a firm believer in a strong Christian education for my kiddos. We love the Lord and seek to find him in all things, both visible and invisible. Never have I had such a thorough explanation of the Biblical philosophy of education; truly a must-read!!
Rich in scripture and research, it is truly “a Biblical apologetic for Christian education and homeschooling.”
2 of my favorite quotes and excerpts from the book:
Dr. R.C. Sproul, “There is no such thing as a neutral education. Every education, every curriculum, has a viewpoint. That viewpoint either considers God in it or it does not. To teach children about life and the world in which they live without reference to God is to make a statement about God. It screams a statement. The message is either that there is no God or that God is irrelevant. Either way the message is the same – there is no God. An irrelevant God is the same as no God at all. If God is, then He must be relevant – to His entire creation.”
Israel Wayne (on qualifications): “Parents often have a very low expectation of their ability to teach their own children. We have bought into the mythos that we must always be subservient to “experts.” I would posit that no one knows your child better than you do! You are the chief expert when it comes to teaching your particular child.”

One of the awesome things about being a blogger, is that I can support companies by showcasing their great stuff, and they can support my blog by paying me a small percentage by affiliate links to track their sales. Sometimes they are gracious enough to send me free products to show and try. But I want you all to be sure, I only recommend products I know and love, because I want the best for you too! This post is sponsored in one of those ways, and you can also check out my disclosure policy for more info 😊. Have a blessed day!
May God bless your homeschool and/or education journey!
Joyfully, Nikki
