Our family finished reading Blue Skies West, the newest book in the horses in history series from @appaloosybooks ! Written by Mattie Richardson, who first authored a book at just 16 years old, this historical fiction novel is a great independent read for kids ages 8-14, or as we did, as a family read-aloud for our kids ages 7, 9, 12, and 14.

We had the opportunity to review an online math curriculum for Pre-Algebra at TabletClass Math! We love it so much! Videos are easy to follow and not boring to watch. The online dashboard keeps track of progress and scores. The best part, there’s even videos that work out solutions! Great curriculum for high school homeschool math 👏🏻!!

We love audio adventures, so I was excited to have my family listen to The Adventure Begins Series 1 of Jonathan Park!! Our kids have really enjoyed audio series over the years, and this one does not disappoint.

And it is chock-full of apologetics and truths of the Bible! I was pleasantly surprised at just how much this series includes truths about Jesus and salvation, historical evidence that points to the Bible being true, all while following along an adventurous story!

We’ve listened to audio series before that can kind of drag, almost at too slow of a pace to keep my kids engaged. But The Adventure Begins, Series 1, really keeps the story moving, and tucks in so many nuggets of Biblical gold through the characters.

Why do we like going to the movies? Aside for the huge portions of popcorn and candy, we love the experience. A giant screen, a big dark room and the ultimate sound system. It’s just lots of fun to watch a movie while feeling engulfed in the music and action. When we tried The Adventum audio Bible story adventure series, we felt like we brought the movie experience home!

The Adventum is a Christian audio bible story adventure for kids. Imagine sitting in a movie theater and closing your eyes through the movie. You end up getting this amazing audio adventure running through your mind as you picture the story happening in front of you.

Mulligan Academy 2022 off to great start 🙌🏻 it was fun to see their faces light up with special cookies (a little melted) and a big breakfast. Matt sent all us girls flowers😍🌸 and took the boys out to meet the Saints hockey team for dinner! We’re slowing down, enjoying the lessons instead of “just getting them done”. It’s about time together, relationships and finding the joy in learning. It’s trial and error to find the best fit, because we can, and there’s no one size fits all. It’s pointing everything back to the Creator of it all. They’ve grown, I saw today how they were there for each other when anything started going south, wanting each other to succeed. It was a beautiful day 🙌🏻

I don’t believe there is any one right way to memorize Scripture…or anything else for that matter. Everyone likes different methods of learning and memorizing, and I find a lot of value in switching up methods often to prevent boredom or redundancy.

I had the opportunity to try a Scripture memory resource called 14:6 The Way by Scripture Memory Fellowship @scripturememoryofficial and it is a great tool to have!

You get 3 verses a week to focus on, it gives you a accountability checks and helps you dive a little deeper with questions on the meaning of each verse. Great for high school students and above!

We’re on the road again! 2 week road trip to Colorado and back to Iowa! Lot’s of fun in between, and some heartache (our car was stolen, then found!), so we are thankful and grateful for it all! 😊

We didn’t bring many lessons to work on this trip other than novels to read, but I also stuck our Super Teacher Worksheets in my bag for review!

We received a 1-year membership to @superteacher_worksheets and have been adding fun printables to supplement areas of learning for all our kids! These have been so handy during the week in our homeschool, and even more so on the road!

The Story About Ping Study Guide helped us dive into fun project ideas, provided links to historical and cultural information, and included Scriptural references when studying comprehension of the text.

If you’re like me, you might spend gobs of time researching and exploring homeschool curriculum all year round. I’m constantly fighting the notion to find the best thing out there, when in reality, the best for each kiddo changes every year. Hence why I’m always searching for the next awesome thing 🙂

As we were approaching summer vacation time, I didn’t want to start an new math curriculum since we were still finishing up books we were currently using. But I was introduced to a self-paced, affordable, online math curriculum for all ages called CTCMath Your Online Math Curriculum. I checked it out!

If you’re like me, you might spend gobs of time researching and exploring homeschool curriculum all year round. I’m constantly fighting the notion to find the best thing out there, when in reality, the best for each kiddo changes every year. Hence why I’m always searching for the next awesome thing 🙂

As we were approaching summer vacation time, I didn’t want to start an new math curriculum since we were still finishing up books we were currently using. But I was introduced to a self-paced, affordable, online math curriculum for all ages called CTCMath Your Online Math Curriculum. I checked it out!
